LIFE 2010

Monday, July 20, 2009 View Comments Comments (0)
After a great time at the beach and seeing the summer begin to wind down it is time to look forward. July 6th - 10th next year will be Life 2010. This a huge youth conference for high school age students nation wide. It will be held in Louisville, Ky. This is going to be an expensive adventure that we must begin to prepare now for. We are asking people to begin praying now for three things:
      1) Pray for provision for the trip. Both financial and ability to attend the event.
      2) Pray against distraction. This is anything that would distract someone from going on the trip and being distracted while there.
      3) Pray for openness to the Holy Spirit. This is most important. God's presence will be there and we are wanting people to pray as His Spirit moves, the students will answer the call He gives them without holding anything back.

There will be a lot of work going into preparing for this event as well as many sacrifices made. This Saturday July 25 we will do our first fund raiser. It is going to be car wash from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Several students are going to be out of town but any in town are welcome to come take part in the fund raising as well as have a good time. We encourage everyone to come get your car cleaned up good. Very soon a website will be published to show more info about the trip.

Beach Trip Coming Up

Thursday, July 09, 2009 View Comments Comments (4)
Beginning in January an incentive trip to the beach was planned. To meet the requirements to attend the beach trip a person was allowed to miss 6 church services between the beginning of January through the end of June. This included the main sermon as well as youth group on Sunday evenings. At one point 30 plus youth were in the running. When final tally was taken 13 youth were eligible for the trip. Due to other obligations some could not attend but 9 youth and three adults will be leaving Monday morning July 15. They will stay in the beautiful Gulfshores Alabama area enjoying sun, sand, surf and area attractions. This was done to encourage regular attendance to church trusting the message heard would change their lives.
